And Then There Were Crumbs by Eve Calder

Wanting to escape New York and her lost job and fiancé, Kate finds herself in a small island town in Florida hoping for a new start. She finds that new start at the Cookie House where she also finds herself solving a murder.

#1 in A Cookie House Mystery series

Cozy mystery

I read And Then There Were Crumbs while also reading a very heavy book. It was just what I needed to offset the other depressing things I was reading. The plot moved nicely with an ending that was unexpected and where everything turns out good. The town is full of eccentric small town business owners who look out for each other. They are all happy and don’t really seem to have any flaws. I would have liked a bit more realness to the characters. No town has that many happy, perfect people! But for the time when I was reading it I really didn’t mind that much. This is a light, fun read that is best read while eating cookies.
